Schools had previously been told that they would need to limit online-only instruction to the first three weeks of the school year, or they'd lose state funding.
We made it onto the news today!!! I’m so proud of all of us!!!
When we get together for show and tell ♥️♥️

Parents with children in SISD:
Please watch this video. If you have any additional questions, please ask in the comments. I will be meeting with the assistant super intendant soon and would like to get as many of your questions answered.
We had a great day yesterday. How about you?
This is where I put on my “mom hat” and ask you to please hold leadership accountable. The TEA has refused to give school districts MUCH needed guidance on how to keep our children safe this fall when they return to school.
They’re basically leaving each district to fend for themselves. It’s as if instead of accepting responsibility, they’re washing their hands of our children’s lives.
There is so much we don’t know about this virus, especially how it affects children. I, for one, am not willing to have them use my child as a guinea pig because they’re just figuring this out as they go — with no plan or direction.
How can it be possible that we are reopening schools this fall when a casino is safer than a school??
I implore you to contact the TEA Commissioner, Mikey Morath vía email at [email protected] and ask them to provide guidance and keep our children safe. YOUR children.
Our children’s lives and wellbeing should not be a political issue. Ever.

Texas governor will not force districts to make masks mandatory. However, SISD has already stated they will make them mandatory.
AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas students will be returning to public schools in person this fall, Gov. Greg Abbott told state lawmakers on Thursday morning. The state's top education officials confirmed the plans in a statement to The Texas Tribune. "It will be safe for Texas public school students, teachers...
These are all the slides that were in my zoom meeting. Sorry! First time using zoom. I thought it was showing them to you. 🤦🏻♀️
All parents will have the choice of doing 100% online learning ALL school year.
If you choose to participate in staggered return, I don’t know how they are choosing who goes back first.
Due to the high risk of confusion and leaving children behind during these staggered schedules, and also because we cannot transport 3 children at a time, we will NOT offer transportation this school year.

If you missed our zoom meeting regarding children returning to school in SISD on July 27, 2020, this is the video recording.
Disclaimer: (for any SISD employee that finds this) The last time I posted a video regarding an entity, I received an angry email about not giving bad press. The opinions expressed in this video are my own as a mother with a child in SISD. Every other factual piece of information is straight off the SISD presentation given during the daycare focus group meeting. I've presented parents with all the facts pertaining returning to school so that they can make informed decisions of their own. :)
Summer fun on a Tuesday!!
