☀️We had a great morning at the Alfalfa & Forage Program learning about forage production, crop management, soil health, and pest management!

A special thank you to Dr. Calvin Trostle, Professor and Extension Specialist, for sharing his expertise on alfalfa production and forage management. We also appreciate Jonathan Consford, IPM Specialist, for providing valuable insight on forage pests and integrated pest management strategies, as well as Orlando Flores, CEA-ANR, for helping coordinate this educational opportunity.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo for their generous hospitality, the use of their park facilities, and access to their fields for hands-on learning and field demonstrations. Your partnership and support are instrumental in strengthening agricultural education and outreach in our region.🌾🤝🌱

Fabens, TX. - Turfgrass Management Workshop provided professional guidance and training in sprinkler irrigation and maintenance, w**d control in turf and overall natural turf care management. Fabens ISD, Anthony ISD, San Elizario ISD, and El Paso County maintenance participated in this educational workshop. Thank you to our partners at South Plains Implement, Sarah Farms Dairy, & New MexicoState University Extension.

💧2026 Conservation Careers Showcase💧
What an incredible day celebrating the accomplishments of our Conservation Careers interns! Students proudly showcased their Farm to the Future projects, featuring drones and agromonitoring row sensors that they designed, built, and developed themselves.

A special thank you to all of our guest speakers who shared their expertise and helped interns gain a deeper understanding of the importance of water conservation in our region's agricultural industry, as well as the many resources, technologies, and partnerships that support agriculture.

We are especially grateful to Dr. Waissman and Mr. Haggerty for being outstanding mentors. Your dedication, guidance, and willingness to share your knowledge helped inspire and empower these students throughout their journey.

🌳Thank you to the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo for welcoming us to your facility and allowing our interns to explore and identify the native plants featured in the landscaping.

Congratulations to all of our interns on their hard work, innovation, and commitment to the future of agriculture and conservation. We can't wait to see what the next cohort accomplishes in 2027! ☀️💧🚜

☀️💧🌱 Join us for the From Farms to the Future: Conservation Careers Showcase, where our conservation interns will share the projects, research, and hands-on experiences they've completed throughout the year.

Our interns have been working hard throughout this entire internship, gaining valuable experience and developing solutions to real-world agricultural and environmental challenges. Discover how conservation interns are addressing agricultural and environmental challenges through research on native plants, pest management, and FOV4.

Enjoy a drone demonstration, explore a rainwater harvesting garden, and learn about conservation practices that support agriculture in the Borderland region.

Come support our interns as they showcase their accomplishments and inspire the future of conservation, agriculture, and natural resource stewardship!
