Meet U.S. Army 1st Lt. Christopher Ward, an ordnance officer (91A) for 47BSB. He’s currently a platoon leader for the 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division Supply Support Activity (SSA). Ward has served for two years and graduated from NC State University with Bachelor of Science in environmental science. He is a native Pittsboro, N.C. and has dreamt of joining the Army since he was a child. Growing up he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and loved how it prepares young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them values. Ward sought to continue to grow as a leader, he then joined the U.S. Army Cadet Command (ROTC), wanting to make the army a career and further his education with a masters in supply chain management.
Meet U.S. Army 1st Lt. Jesse Chase, a health services materiel officer (70K) for 47BSB. His primary role is to plan and direct activities of personnel and units responsible for the inventory management of all Class VIII medical supplies. He is a native of Milton, Mass. and has been serving for four years. He joined the U.S. Army Cadet Command (ROTC) at Norwich University and earned his Bachelor of Science and Mechanical Engineering degree. Chase enjoyed doing community service while in college and saw an opportunity to join the Army to develop himself and serve for the greater good. He is the first in his family to join and serve his country. Chase wants to further his education by completing his master’s in mechanical engineering or engineering management.
Meet U.S. Army Capt. Genevieve Prevete, a signal officer (25A) for the 47BSB. Signal officers are responsible for the Army’s entire systems of communication. Officers plan and execute all aspects of communication on a mission and are critical to the Army’s continued success. She is a native of Long Island, N.Y. and has been serving for 6 years. She earned her degree in homeland and corporate security, graduating from St. John's University. She is the first female in her family to join. She chose to join to help serve others and hopes to inspire others to do the same. She is a selfless leader that aspires to become a commander so that she can lead, mentor, and develop Soldiers, NCOs and officers alike.
Meet U.S. Army Pvt. Brittany Watson, a culinary specialist (92G) for 47BSB. Culinary specialists are primarily responsible for the preparation and service of food in field or garrison food service operations. She is a native of Montgomery, Alabama and has been serving for almost a year. She joined to travel the world and start a successful career. Her husband inspired her to join by sharing his experiences. She’s proud to serve and hopes to make this a career while continuing to further her education.
The weapons used by in the U.S. Army are among the most sophisticated and technically advanced in the world. Our Soldiers depend on those weapon systems in training and most importantly, in combat and their confidence depends on our Small Arms/Artillery Repairers. These technical experts are responsible for keeping a wide array of weapons — from small arms to field artillery and large ballistic missiles — operating properly.
