CASFV was incorporated in 1977 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization governed by a board of directors serving the tri-county area of El Paso, Hudspeth, and Culberson counties. Guiding CASFV in its mission to confront and prevent domestic violence in all its forms by advocating for safety and justice through intervention, education, and community collaboration is Executive Director, Sandra Nevarez G
arcia. To this end, CASFV addresses family needs in times of emergency and works to rebuild families by providing the needed guidance and resources to put them back on the road to a healthy recovery.

The 14-member Protective Order Unit, led by Aaron Setliff is charged with El Paso County’s efforts in obtaining effective and often lifesaving help for survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.

This day of action and awareness is an event in which people are encouraged to wear denim to combat victim blaming and educate others about sexual violence. The campaign began after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where a r**e conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans she must have helped the person who r**ed her remove her jeans, thereby implying consent.
