On 28 November 2021, CONDET A returned to home station. The Command Team, Soldiers of the 919th and family members welcome their Soldiers at the MICC FT Bliss, TX. The team successfully completed their tour and received accolades for their outstanding performance while deployed.

MAJ Weisman completed the 2021 virtual Army Ten-Miler in El Paso, Texas. His goal was to finish the race between 90 and 100 minutes. On 7 Nov 2021, MAJ Weisman completed the virtual Army- Ten Miler. His route took him along Texas State Route 3255, into New Mexico, and back to his home. He completed the virtual Army Ten-Miler at 90 minutes and 14 seconds.

MAJ Weisman’s training plan has taken him from an initial two-mile run to his recent ten-mile run, and he is well on his way to meeting his goal of a sub-two-hour half marathon finish. The final results of this year’s race are still pending, but he is on track to finish in the top 20% of his age group based on historical information.

Soldiers of the 919th CBN conducted the Warrior Week and successfully completed all Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills (WTBD) at two locations on Ft Bliss. The training increased the proficiency and readiness of officers and NCOs. The ex*****on of the WTBD is a priority of the Command Team during the 1st QTR. SFC Ramirez (NCOIC) planned and executed the Warrior Week at the Medical Simulator Training Center(MSTC) and the Simulations (SIM) Center facility to provide realistic hands-on training and maximize the use of the technology. All NCOs prepared a delivered their assigned training that included the academics and hands-on portions.

The first day of training consists of instructions in the classroom environment, and the second day is hands-on training at DAV for all CORs. Between 28 September to 30 September 2021, members of the MICC-FBTX/919th CBN took part in a dress-up theme day during the last week of FY21. Soldiers and DA civilians wore crazy hats, hair, and/or socks, showed team spirit by wearing sports apparel from their favorite team, and went back in time and dressed up as a certain era of their choosing. (1920’s, 1960’s, 1970’s). Lunch was also catered to improve workplace efficiency ranging from pizza, sub sandwiches, and Mexican food.

RCO-Erbil provided the 408th CSB Command Team with a command brief, base tour, and facilitated key leadership engagements with the EAB base leadership (COL Steadman and CSM Sun), USACE personnel, and EAB BOS-I leadership (LTC Shirley and COL Pegg). Additionally, COL Hughley and CSM Butler met with key EAB CORs and acknowledged their outstanding performance in providing contracting oversight of their responsible LOGCAP V service lines.

On 17 September 2021, MICC-Fort Bliss celebrated and recognized September birthdays for personnel within the organization. MICC-Fort Bliss hosted a birthday ceremony for MSG Cunningham, Mr. Baughman, and Ms. Brown. Several members of the 919th CBN attended virtually through MS Teams. LTC Brooks and Mr. Medrano provided the workforce with updates on the EOFY requirements and overall progress during the ceremony. The Commander also informed the organization of ongoing support for the OAW and SWB mission.

Mrs. Rashonda Jones created a mock PCF package for the MICC-FBTX/919th CBN training cell to work within PCF while they conducted live market research training. The training consisted of each new 51C personnel reviewing a package, learning to maneuver through PCF, uploading documents and reviewing websites and preparation of a market research report. As a result, the members of the training cell will be postured to work as fully functioning 1102’s/51C’s who are proficient in their craft once they graduate from the training cell.

The visit provided valuable insight for the Garrison Commander on the organizational structure, the acquisition process, and MICC-FBTX capabilities to support IMCOM and White Sands Missile Range. MAJ Collins assumed the role of ACO in support of Operation Allies Refuge at Doña Ana Range Complex. The 919th Command Team and the Deputy Director were also heavily engaged with synchronizing efforts for OAR. Additionally, SFC McInnis, SSG Saranghilo, and SSG Neill also provided support by attending meetings with the contractor, conducting daily site visits, and covering down on duties until the 901st Team arrived to relieve them.

#TeamBuilding NCOs from the 919th Contracting Battalion / MICC - Fort Bliss gathered at the end of July to conduct their first team building activity since the start of the COVID pandemic at the Ft Bliss - Desert Strike Lanes - Bowling Center. Facilitated by Sgt. 1st Class Fernando Ramirez, seven NCOs from Contracting Detachment B and battalion staff took part while their counterparts are presently deployed. The activity allowed them to maintain unit cohesion, boost morale, and build trust and camaraderie.

Army officials announced today the selection of Brig. Gen. Christine Beeler as the next U.S. Army Contracting Command leader! Army officials also announced Brig. Gen. Douglas Lowrey from the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command as the next MICC commanding general. Congrats to both!

Fantastic news! Please join us in congratulating Brig. Gen. Christine Beeler on her selection as the next commanding general of the U.S. Army Contracting Command and part of Team Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. ACC, a two-star command, is responsible for delivering decisive contracting solutions across the full spectrum of conflict as part of the joint force, anytime, anywhere. U.S. Army officials also announced Brig. Gen. Douglas Lowrey, currently serving as the commanding general of the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command at Redstone Arsenal, as the next commanding general of the MICC. For those of you who have been with the MICC a while, Lowrey is no stranger to the command. Congratulations!
