The City of El Reno is currently attempting to locate an unidentified water leak on the south and west side of El Reno.
Crews are currently out searching, and we are asking everyone currently receiving water from El Reno to report any large
pooling of water.

Additionally, we are asking that all outside water usage supplied from our water service to stop until the leak can be located.
We are currently asking our residents and business partners to restrict water usage until we are able to identify the water
Break.

We are confident the break is within a major water line supply.

As a precaution, we have asked the El Reno Public Schools to cancel school today for the safety of our children.

We are asking for our citizens' help in locating any suspicious water pooling.

El Reno Police Department’s K9 Aro has received donation of body armor

El Reno Police Department, OK - K9 Aro has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Aro’s vest was sponsored by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. and embroidered with the sentiment “Gifted by Tede, Coda and Reggie”.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,603 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states, made possible by both private and corporate donations.

The program is open to U.S. dogs at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $1,050 will sponsor one vest. 🚨 Rockets Red Glare Act Reminder 🚨
While Oklahoma's Rockets Red Glare Act allows the sale and use of fireworks, the City of El Reno's Fireworks Ordinance No. 9368 governs where and when fireworks may be discharged within city limits.
Fireworks may only be used in the designated yellow-highlighted areas and during approved dates and times. City regulations take precedence within El Reno and will be enforced accordingly.

✅ Legal Discharge Dates & Times:
• June 27–July 4: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
• July 4 (any day): Noon – 11:00 PM
• July 5 (if Friday or Saturday): Noon – 10:00 PM
• All other times (July 5–June 26): Prohibited

🚫 Fireworks Are Banned:
• Within 500 feet of:
o Churches
o Hospitals
o Schools
o Unharvested crops
o Firework sales or storage locations

• Within 200 feet of:
o Industrial buildings or yards (including oil & gas sites)

• In:
o Residential subdivisions with fewer than 1-acre lots
o RV/mobile home subdivisions
• Specific zone entirely banned:
o North of Jensen Road
o East of Reformatory Road
o South of the North Canadian River
o West of Radio Road

🔥 Safety & Conduct Rules:
• Must be discharged on a noncombustible surface, at least 25 ft from permanent structures
• No fireworks on city/county parks, highways, or within 15 ft of any street
• Fireworks cannot be discharged from a motor vehicle
• All debris must be cleaned up by the next day
• Adult supervision required for anyone under 16
• Fireworks may only be used on owned or permitted property
• Fireworks are prohibited during burn bans or when restricted by the Fire Marshal

On June 23, 2026, at approximately 4:35 a.m., the individual pictured used a stolen debit card at the Domino Gas Station located on Country Club Road in El Reno. The debit card had been stolen from a vehicle within the preceding few hours.

The suspect is identifiable by distinctive red and white shoes and what appears to be a face tattoo on the back of his left hand.

Anyone who recognizes this individual or has information regarding their identity is asked to contact the El Reno Police Department at (405) 262-6941 and request to speak with Detective Brandon Payton. All information received will be investigated.
