Today, El Reno Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 151 President Varner, along with Fraternal Brother Gallagher and his wife, attended the 45th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service during National Police Week in Washington, D.C., alongside Kirsten, and their children, where Sergeant Thomas Duran was honored alongside fallen officers from across the nation.

The service was a powerful reminder that the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers and their families are never forgotten. During the ceremony, the symbolic white chairs served as a solemn reminder of the fallen officers being honored and the surviving families who carry on in their absence. Those in attendance also listened to remarks from the Vice President as the nation came together to recognize the courage, service, and legacy of America’s fallen heroes.

Sergeant Duran’s legacy continues to live on through his family, friends, fellow officers, and the community he faithfully served. We ask that you continue to keep the Duran family in your thoughts and prayers.
