💧 WATER LEAK FOUND — SYSTEM RECOVERING
At approximately 8:30 a.m. today, crews located the major water leak in the 800 block of W. Jensen Road.
We want to make one point very clear: The leak was in a PRIVATE water line on PRIVATE property. It was NOT caused by a failure of the City of El Reno’s water system.
The leak was difficult to locate because the property’s private fire hydrant was not visible from the roadway. Once water to the private property was shut off, we saw an immediate increase in pressure at the Lake water tower.
Approximately 3 million gallons of water are estimated to have been lost.
💧 It will take some time for pressure to rebuild and normal water service to return throughout the affected areas.
🚫 Outside watering remains prohibited at this time. We also ask everyone to continue using water responsibly at home and at businesses while our system recovers.
🧊 Free bottled water will be available this afternoon at The Filling Station, 120 S. Choctaw Ave. Distribution details will be posted shortly.
Thank you City crews for your diligence!
Thank you, El Reno, for your patience and cooperation.
