Food, festivities, and fireworks are back at Rec Park‼️🎆 Join is for our Annual 4th of July event on Saturday, July 4th with daytime events from 10:00am–3:00pm and evening events from 5:00pm–9:00pm. The fireworks show will start at 9:00pm following the evening events. The streets will be closed around the park to allow you to safely enjoy all the festivities we have planned!
Daytime events will include a group of contests like hula hoop, a water balloon toss, a watermelon eating contest presented by Rotary Club, and a pie eating contest presented by Kiwanis Club. There will also be races including a 3-legged sack race, toddler and youth races, and a diaper derby for crawlers.
Evening events will include live music from The AstroYatchs, food booths, and fireworks! Stevenson and Softball Field entry begins at 5:00pm. Stevenson and Softball Field blanket seating opens at 8:00am–9:00am. Please remember to bring your wristbands and either a Rec ID card or driver’s license on the day of the event for morning entry to the Softball Field for Resident Priority Seating.
Wristbands are available at the Joslyn Center, Checkout Building, and Clubhouse in Recreation Park now through July 3rd. El Segundo residents can receive a maximum of 4 free wristbands per adult with a valid Rec ID card. Non-residents or those without Rec ID cards can purchase wristbands for $5 each. Wristbands are required for entry to Softball and Stevenson Fields during evening events—entry is free for children under 2. General admission wristbands may also be purchased on the day of the event for $5.

Rec ID cards may only be purchased or renewed in person at the Clubhouse, Checkout Building, Joslyn Center, or Aquatics Center. Please bring two forms of identification showing El Segundo residency (for example, a driver’s license and utility bill).
