Last Monday nights training was Ems/firefighter training. We worked on the possibility of Heat Emergencies. We worked on rescuing a downed firefighter who suffered heat stroke and a downed “construction worker” who was suffering heat exhaustion and collapsed in a high and unusual place. Emergencies can happen in any location.
Great job to all our members who worked together, both Ems and firefighters, to work on their skills.

Last nights training was driver training. We set up an obstacle course to challenge our old and new drivers. We hooked the trailer to our pick up so drivers can get use to backing a trailer. And we even got the antique truck out and sent that through the obstacle course. 1st gear sticks a little so I’m not sure if he passed 😂 Great weather and a great night of training!

We would like to thank everyone for the HUGE support today in our Chicken BBQ! We sold out in a record 10 mins! 600 halves!! Thank you to all our members and helpers who took their day to help in so many ways! And as always: to our community!! We can’t thank you enough for your continued support of The Elba Fire Dept Inc.!!

This week from April 26-May 3rd, starts Light The Night For Fallen Firefighters. We have changed the outside lights to red at our Fire Hall in honor of all Fallen Firefighters who have died in the line of duty and to our own member Melvin Loder. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of these firefighters and to their Firefighting Families. 🙏🏻💕

This Sunday starting at 11am come get your chicken BBQ!! $15 gets you chicken, Mac salad, baked beans, roll and a cookie. Drive thru only. Come in off route 262 and fire police will direct you where to go. Stay in your car and the Scouts will come to your car!! Come early cause we sell out fast!! See you on Sunday!!

Thank you to everyone that came out today! It was nice to see some new faces! We will be back tomorrow from 10-2. The weather won’t be as nice, but we will still have hot dogs, ice cream, goodies for the kids and the fire trucks to get in. And of course fire dept members to meet! Come on out! We would love to see you!

Ever wonder what goes on in the building at 4 South Main St? Would you like to come meet the fire personnel and officers that protect your community? Or how about just come check out some really cool fire trucks and tools!! Well now’s your chance!!

April 18th and 19th we will be holding an Open House at the Fire Hall from 10am-2pm.

The hall will be open to come see our equipment, meet us, ask questions, see what some of our equipment does and maybe grab an application to be a big part of your community!
