Elberon Fire was fortunate enough to receive a grant from this organization. We are using it to update the tanks for our self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). New ones are needed every 10 years. This is a really great organization that has helped us over the years.
Also, Congratulations to Vining Fire Department on receiving their grant.
Yesterday, the Tama County Community Foundation (TCCF) celebrated the power of local giving at its 2026 Grant Awards, held April 13 at the Wieting Theatre, announcing the distribution of $193,436.99 to 26 projects serving Tama County through its 2026 grant cycle.
Supporting initiatives across health and safety, opportunity and access, vibrant communities, and youth empowerment, these grants will fund a wide range of impactful projects, from emergency response equipment and food access to community facility improvements, public spaces, and youth programs. This year’s funding reflects the generosity of local donors and the dedication of nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and community leaders working to strengthen Tama County.
Congratulations to all of this year’s grant recipients, and thank you to our volunteer impact committee for your thoughtful leadership in this process.
