Healthy Mustangs

Healthy Mustangs Welcome! I will do my best to keep you all updated with healthy tips and tricks. Hello! I have approximately 550 students and over 50 staff in my building.

Most of you already know me, but for anyone who is new to the school or district -- Hello!! I am Nurse Lyndsey and I will be taking care of you kiddos this year! :) I've been a nurse in this building for 10 years now. As you can probably guess, my days are filled with lots of icepacks and Band-Aids! I am responsible for providing healthcare to students and staff with acute and chronic health probl

ems. Aside from the normal day-to-day injuries or sudden ailments, I also conduct yearly screenings on each student and then provide referrals to those students who need additional health services. I am responsible for ensuring yearly immunization compliance for each student so I spend a lot of time on the phone with parents or physicians' offices regarding student records. Good communication is key! I am also responsible for communicating with parents and physicians to develop and monitor individual health plans for students to ensure the best and safest outcome for these students while in my care at school. If you have any questions, feel free to call me during normal school hours or send me a message on here and I will do my best to get back to you!

๐Ÿฉบ More Than Just an Ice Pack! ๐Ÿฉน
Today is National School Nurse Day, and we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the incredible work happening right here in our school clinics!

Being a school nurse is about so much more than checking temperatures. Itโ€™s about:

Advocating for every student's health and safety.

Managing chronic conditions so kids can stay in the classroom.

Bridging the gap between healthcare and education.

Providing a smile (and maybe a sticker) when a student is having a tough day.

We love being the "healthy heart" of our schools. To our students and families: Thank you for trusting us with your care!

To our fellow nurses: We see your hard work, your expertise, and your compassion. Happy School Nurse Day! โค๏ธโœจ

Happy **Teacher Appreciation Week**!
As the school nurse, we get a unique "behind-the-scenes" look at what it takes to be an educator. We see you wiping away tears, celebrating the "lightbulb" moments, and showing up with boundless energy (and maybe an extra cup of coffee) every single morning.
You don't just teachโ€”you mentor, you inspire, and you care for the "whole child" in a way that truly changes lives. This week, we want to make sure you know how much **you** are valued and supported.
**Letโ€™s shower our teachers with some love!** Leave a "โค๏ธ" or a "Thank You" in the comments to let our staff know theyโ€™re doing an amazing job!

โ€‹Itโ€™s National School Counseling Week, and we want to give a massive shout-out to our incredible counseling team we have in the Eldon school district.
โ€‹As a nurse, we see firsthand how physical health and emotional well-being go hand-in-hand. Whether theyโ€™re helping a student navigate a tough day, providing a safe space to talk, or helping a child find their confidence, our counselors are true heroes in our hallways.

โ€‹To all of our counselors: Thank you for your endless patience, your empathy, and for being such vital partners in student care (and for keeping me sane, too!).We couldn't do this without you!
โ€‹Show our counselors some love in the comments below! ๐Ÿ‘‡โœจ

Flu season is officially here, and we need your help to prevent the spread of germs in our hallways.
