PUBLIC NOTICE TO THE VOTERS OF HARDIN COUNTY
The Hardin County Board of Supervisors, after coordinating with the local emergency medical
services advisory committee, propose submitting to the voters in Hardin County, Iowa, the foILowing
public measure on baLLot for the general eLection held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026:
SHALL THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC MEASURE BE ADOPTED?
The Board of Supervisors in the County of Hardin, State of Iowa, for the purpose of raising
$1,200,000 annuaLly to support Emergency Medical Services in the county pursuant to Iowa Code
Chapter 422D, for a period of seven (7) years, shall impose an Emergency Medical Services ad valorem
property tax Levy annuaLly in an amount not to exceed One Dollar ($1 .00) per One Thousand Dollars
($1,000) of assessed valuation on all taxable property within the county, beginning the first fiscal year
after the fiscal year in which the election was held; Hardin County shall establish an emergency
medical services trust fund into which revenues received from the taxes shall be deposited; the
resulting revenues coILected by Hardin County from each township and city in the county, respectively,
shall be distributed by Hardin County to each township and city in the county, respectively, to be
expended by each township and city in the county, respectively, as determined by each township and city
in the county for purposes authorized under Iowa Code Chapter 422D.
This notice satisfies a 60-day notice requirement in conducting the election.
