Please be safe during the storm

With the possibility of this imminent storm dropping 1 to possibly 2 feet of heavy wet snow combined with gusty winds, brings a chance of power outages. If your power does go out and you run a generator remember some of the safety tips below. If you do encounter wires down anywhere always remember to call 911 and never approach them as they can be live. We hope everyone stays warm and safe during the storm and stay home if you can!

At 12:21 AM Highland EMS and Yulan Fire Department got dispatched to a structure fire, Upon Yulans Car 2 arrival the garage was fully involved. Thankfully nobody got hurt or suffered any injuries.

At 13:29 Yulan fire department and highland ambulance were dispatched to a water rescue on the Delaware river. Although the outcome was not one we ever hope for we do appreciate all of the mutual aid and assisting departments. As always, please keep vigilant, while on the river and keep your life jacket on.

At approximately 12:45 AM, Lumberland Fire-Dept Glen Spey, Highland Lake Fire-Dept , and Yulan Fire Department we’re dispatched for a “Water Rescue” . The person was found and brought safely back to shore. If you are going to go Kayaking in the hours of the night wear a life jacket, something reflective and never go alone no matter the time of day!
