There's still time to clean out that closet and donate your used or new shoes to the Eldridge Lions Club Soles4Souls drive:
The Eldridge Lions Club, in conjunction with Soles4Souls, are hosting a shoe drive from August 10 through September 11.
At Soles 4 Souls, unwanted shoes are turned into opportunity, by keeping them from going to waste and putting them to good use – providing relief, creating jobs, and empowering people to break the cycle of poverty here in the US and around the world.
The Eldridge Lions invite you to clean out that closet and shoe bin and bring your unwanted shoes to one of the drop off locations. Shoes in any condition are accepted, even new shoes. Look for the orange box at one of the following locations. Your closet will be happy and so will the recipient of your shoes.
Shoes, boots, sandals, slippers, etc., can be dropped off August 10 through September 11 at:
Faith Lutheran Church, Eldridge
United Methodist Church, Eldridge
St. Ann's Catholic Church, Long Grove
Ace Hardware, Eldridge
Scott County Library, Eldridge
First Central State Bank, Eldridge
Cornerstone Baptist Church, Eldridge

When you buy a “Lucky 20” ticket you have a chance at some great cash prizes.
You also have an opportunity to support our community. The funds raised by our “Lucky 20” raffle will go back into community for high school scholarships for our North Scott graduating seniors, our support for the junior high / high school History Day, our Kids Sight program which helps screen our elementary school children, and to support local youth service groups with their community projects.

We also support the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), serving a world in need, childhood cancer, diabetes, hunger, environment, vision, disaster relief, youth, and humanitarian needs.

Your $20 purchase of a “ Lucky 20” ticket is a win-win for everyone in the Eldridge community.

Is that bedroom or hall closet overflowing with shoes? Time to clean it out? The Eldridge Lions Club is collecting new and used shoes August 10-September 11, 2026, to help those in need.
The Soles4Souls program turns unwanted shoes into opportunity, in the United States and around the world, by keeping them from going to waste and putting them to good use - providing relief, creating jobs, and empowering people to break the cycle of poverty.
So why not take this opportunity to clean out that closet and drop your new or used shoes in an orange Soles4Souls box. And just like that, you’ll have made someone’s life better.

The Eldridge Lions Club receives the new Iowa KidSight G5 Camera! Dan Ferry holds the new camera while Beth Schwager removes the protective plastic for the first time. Merlyn Frick looks on while Dan checks out the features. And President Sue Cannon tries a practice picture on fellow Eldridge Lion Judy Shannon. Excellent training was given by Chelle from Iowa KidSight. Our club looks forward to when the camera is released for use in our schools and daycare screenings.
