The Eldridge Lions Club Soles4Souls shoe collection ended September 11. Today our caravan of five loaded vehicles transported the shoes to our drop off location in Bettendorf. Thank you to everyone who took the time to w**d out all your unwanted shoes and drop them at one of our Soles4Souls locations. We also had many brand new shoes. Thank you for those! In total, you helped us keep 1880 pairs of shoes from going to a landfill. Many people will benefit from this effort.
And a shout out Thank You to our seven shoe collection sites. Without you, we couldn't have accomplished this.
And last, a big thank you to the Eldridge Lions that helped in this endeavor. Terry and Deb Jurisic, Debbie Hentges and Jeff and Tracy Harris counted and bagged the shoes. And joining us to help load, transport and unload was Dan O'Flahrity, Mark Wall, Rick Baughman, and Mary and Craig Gehrls.

We are down to our last week of shoe collection. So far you wonderful people have dropped off over 1000 pairs of shoes. Thank you so much! We've got room for plenty more so clean out that closet and donate your used or new shoes to the Eldridge Lions Club Soles4Souls drive:
The Eldridge Lions Club, in conjunction with Soles4Souls, are hosting a shoe drive from August 10 through September 11.
At Soles 4 Souls, unwanted shoes are turned into opportunity, by keeping them from going to waste and putting them to good use – providing relief, creating jobs, and empowering people to break the cycle of poverty here in the US and around the world.
The Eldridge Lions invite you to clean out that closet and shoe bin and bring your unwanted shoes to one of the drop off locations. Shoes in any condition are accepted, even new shoes. Look for the orange box at one of the following locations. Your closet will be happy and so will the recipient of your shoes.
Shoes, boots, sandals, slippers, etc., can be dropped off August 10 through September 11 at:
Faith Lutheran Church, Eldridge
United Methodist Church, Eldridge
St. Ann's Catholic Church, Long Grove
Ace Hardware, Eldridge
Scott County Library, Eldridge
First Central State Bank, Eldridge
Cornerstone Baptist Church, Eldridge

Questions may be directed to the Eldridge Lions Club at 563-279-2213 or email [email protected].
