Live music will begin at 6 and fireworks will begin at dusk!

We are getting close to our Sounds of Freedom Festival!! We hope everyone is getting excited! Below is information regarding our Kiddy Mini Wagon Parade:

We would first like to thank the Elgin Chamber of Commerce for providing prizes for the winning mini floats! Please come out and see them as well as all of the other vendors that will be open at 4pm and the Live band at 6pm!

- The parade will begin at 8pm and will follow the route provided.

- This year's theme is "America's 250th Birthday" so bring your patriotic spirit and let's show off our RED, WHITE, and BLUE!!

- Registration has been changed from ending tomorrow, to closing right before the parade kicks off!

- If you would still like to participate and decorate a mini float please show up 5-10 minutes prior to the parade start at the Chamber's booth to line up. - No pre-registration required anymore!

- The mini vehicles that permitted are wagons, strollers, mini motorized vehicles (with stock motors), and kiddy bikes!!

- If you would like to throw candy and items from your float that is allowed, but please be mindful!

- The parade will happen whether we have a very few amount of participants or more! We hope to keep doing this event in the future with different themes each year so be on the look our for next year's theme!

- Even if you do not want to participate, everyone is welcome to come out and cheer for those who are showing off their mini floats!

Want to know what is going on in Elgin on the 4th of July??

Come join us to Celebrate America's 250th Birthday with fun events for the whole family!!

Everything will take place at the Veterans Memorial Park on Commerce St.

- Join the Early Morning Kickball Tournament

- Come browse our vendors

- Let the kiddos have fun and slide on our 22' water slide, or bounce on our dry bounce house/slide combo, or play in a foam machine!!

- A corn hole tournament will begin around 4:30pm. Registration ends at 4:00pm. $20 per person with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners!!

- Sign up for the the Wagon Parade and decorate your Kiddy wagons and strollers with American Spirit and parade around the venue!! - Sign ups are free and prizes will be provided by the Elgin Chamber of Commerce!!

- Finally, our Grand Fireworks Show will begin at Dusk!

Elgin Fireworks Reminder Rules! 🎆

If you're celebrating with fireworks within the city limits, please follow these regulations:

🗓️ Permitted Dates & Times
• 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. on the Saturday immediately before July 4, July 3, July 4, and July 5

✅ Fireworks may only be used if all of the following requirements are met:

• Fireworks must be discharged on a noncombustible surface large enough to safely contain the display and at least 25 feet from any permanent structure.
• Fireworks are prohibited within 500 feet of any church, hospital, asylum, unharvested flammable agricultural crop, public school, or any location where fireworks are stored or sold.
• Fireworks may not be ignited or thrown from a motor vehicle or thrown at a vehicle or group of people.
• An adult must be physically present whenever fireworks are being used, and fireworks must be discharged within 60 feet of the front door of the residence.
• Property owners are responsible for cleaning up all fireworks debris the same day.
• Fireworks are not permitted in city parks, on highways, turnpikes, or on streets with pavement wider than 26 feet (arterial or collector streets).

⚠️ Violations are punishable by a $280 fine, plus court costs. Each violation is considered a separate offense.

Attention:
The City of Elgin/Elgin Fire Department need all vehicles including Trucks moved from the parking lot on Commerce, you can move them to Crossroads Baptist Church parking lot. Please have them removed by this Sunday May 3rd by 6:00 am until after the weekend of Crawds-N-Rods May 11th.

🌱 Friendly reminder from City of Elgin 🌱

As we head into the growing season, this is a friendly reminder that nuisance abatement has started for the year.

Please help keep our community looking its best by keeping all yards, alleys, and easements mowed and maintained below 12 inches in height. Regular upkeep not only keeps Elgin welcoming, but it also helps prevent pests.
