Veterinary Technology at Austin Community College The Austin Community College Veterinary Technology Program is an AVMA/CVTEA Accredited Two-Year Associates Degree Program located at the ACC Elgin Campus.

Completion of this degree qualifies graduates to sit for the Veterinary Technician National Exam. The Veterinary Technology Program at Austin Community College began teaching classes since August of 2014. Our program provides the essential knowledge and hands-on training to prepare you for a career as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. This program is fully accredited by the AVMA. Upon graduation y

ROUND TWO! Happy Spring everyone! I'm pleased to introduce you to our second group of animals for the Spring 2026 semester!
All of these dogs and cats are up for adoption and will be ready to go home at the end of April, so if you or someone you know are looking to add a fur baby to your family, we've got you!
All dogs and cats will be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and flea and heartworm prevention.

Wouldn't we all love to meet one of our favorite cartoon characters? Well, the wait is over! Meet Scooby, he is a approximately 2 years old, neutered, and up to date on all vaccines and preventatives. Scooby is an extremely sweet and gentle boy that can be very shy at first, but when he feels safe, he shows another more energetic and playful side to him. He loves playing with other dogs, and has shown some curiosity towards kitties.

Meet handsome boy Whiskey! He is part of our program here at ACC, and he strives every day to show us how good of a boy he is! Whiskey is about 2 years old, was just neutered, is potty trained, and is current on all vaccines and prevention. He is passionate about playing ball, is an excellent walker on a leash, enjoys giving kisses, and plays well with other dogs.

Hazelnut is a 2 year old, Staffordshire Terrier mix, who has won our hearts with her full body wags, and even though she is pretty petite, she packs a big heart full of love.

Ruth is a 3 year old, also Staffordshire Terrier mix, who can convince you of giving her your entire lunch with just a look of her sweet eyes. She is also a compact girly that loves to sit in laps.

Happy Fall everyone!

As we all know, with this new season comes the nice weather, crunchy leaves, and cozy outfits, and what better way to enjoy all of these things that with a new companion! I present to you the ACC dogs and cats for Fall of 2025. All of these guys will come with all vaccines and preventatives up to date, and will be spayed or neutered by the end of the semester. It is almost the end of the summer term, and we still have some sweet dogs and cats that are looking for their forever homes. Some of these kids have been with us the whole summer, and some got to us just a few weeks ago, but they have all been doing a great job at helping our students learn their tech skills . If you or anyone you know is looking to add a furry friend to their family, look no further! contact us to learn more information about any of them, and to schedule a meet a greet! They will be returning to their original shelters next week, and will still be available through their websites.

Say hello to Shine! This beautiful petite girl is as laid back as they come. Her favorite hobby? looking out the window, and taking in the view from the comfort of a nice bed. She also enjoys the company of people, and rubbing against you for more pets!

Say hello to beautiful Kali!

Kali is a 3 year old boxer mix that is spayed, up to date on all her vaccines and preventatives, and just a healthy girl in general.

This sweet girl is playful and has the physique of a high performance athlete, and totally looks like a petite tiger! She has shown us that besides loving to be active, she will sit pretty for a nice pet and a yummy treat.
