IL OSFM Grant

The Pingree Grove & Countryside Fire Protection District has received a Small Equipment Grant of $24,000 from the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal. This grant will be used to replace aging structural firefighting gear.

This funding will provide firefighters with the protective equipment needed to safely respond to emergencies.

The district acknowledges the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal for its ongoing support of fire departments throughout the state.

Shed Fire

On May 23rd, at 2:28 pm, the Pingree Grove and Fire Protection District (PGFPD) was dispatched to the 38W600 block of Highland Avenue for a reported shed fire. When crews arrived, their efforts to control the fire were temporarily delayed by a locked electric gate, which prevented immediate access to the property. Units located a shed measuring approximately 10x25 feet, with heavy smoke and visible flames showing from the cedar shingled roof.
The fire was under control within 10 minutes.
