Elgin Middle School Winter Wishes

Elgin Middle School Winter Wishes Every middle school student has made a wish for another student and one for themselves. We are trying to grant as many of those wishes as possible.

Today was our Wish for a Fish Community Service event. It was so much fun! We are so proud of Coy, his heart for people, and the wish that he made. We are proud of the kids who started making this plan when they were middles schoolers in the spring of 2020. We are proud of the kids who pulled this event off and thankful for the adults who helped and donated. Today was a great day!!

In December of 2019 we chose to grant a community wish for an 8th grader. We had it planned for May of 2020, but because of the pandemic it was postponed. On July 11th we plan to grant Coy’s wish! We will have a fishing tournament at the Lawton/Ft Sill Veterans Center. There will be a cook out lunch for the veterans, and we will offer prizes. If anyone would like to donate items for the cookout or prizes (ball caps, gift cards, 12 packs of soda) please contact Melissa Evon ([email protected]) or Anita West ([email protected])

What If... you could play a small role in something really big. What If... you could make a difference.

EMS Student Council Winter Wishes and The Elgin Masonic Pilot Lodge invite you to a “ What If” breakfast honoring one of our own, the Anglley family. Mrs. Anglley is a very loved 6th grade teacher at Elgin Middle School. Recently it was discovered her husband, Tedd Anglley, an Elgin alumni, is in need of a liver transplant. As you can imagine, the medical expenses are great and burdensome, and we would like to help them with those expenses.

The wonderful men at the Elgin Pilot Lodge have volunteered their time and cooking skills to make this breakfast possible. Winter Wishes is donating the food, but we need YOU and ALL of your family members and friends to pack our 6th grade cafeteria on May 15th from 8-10. See the flyer below for details. Tickets are $7 each or a donation can be made at the door.

If you can’t make the breakfast and would like to donate, checks can be made payable to: Elgin Middle School Winter Wishes
712 J Street Elgin, Ok 73538
Attn: Mrs. Evon or Mrs. West

100% of all benefit breakfast donations will be presented directly to the Anglley family.

Please contact us for any additional details or with questions: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected],

These students signed up to take holiday portraits during 6th grade’s Winter Wishes activity days. Our indoor portraits weren’t turning out as expected; classroom lighting is super yellow! But, a Winter Wish miracle happened when it snowed just long enough for us to take pictures outside.

Nicholas was very excited for his Winter Wish! Well deserved! Nicholas exemplifies kindness everyday at EMS.

The best wishes are those fulfilled by kids and teachers/coaches who just want to do something special for an extra kind friend. Thank you to Coach Green and Coach Rodgers for encouraging them and helping them out🎈🎈🎈
