Who We Are And What We Do...

Help The Elgin Homeless is a page specifically for our homeless friends in Elgin and those that wish to help them. Various ministries have been running in Elgin for a couple of years now and have blossomed into an amazing weekly tribute to those affected by homelessness.

Our goal is to clothe, feed, employ, support, guide, help, reconnect and LOVE those in need - as God has called us to do. We work with various other ministries, businesses and charities to provide to the best of our abilities. Some of those include: Street Reach/Vineyard Church; New Life Covenant Church; Accurate Personnel Employment Agency; First United Methodist Emergency Shelter (Matt 25:40); PADS of Elgin; Wayside Ministries; Lily’s Closet; Blessing Barn; Elgin Crisis Center, Soup Kitchens throughout Elgin, etc. and are some amazing resources for helping those in need! Some of the governmental agencies we work with or look forward to working with are: LSSI; AID; Elgin Police Department; and any/all others that wish to be a blessing to the homeless community.

On any given Friday night (Fall through Spring), Help The Elgin Homeless attends Street Reach to provide food, clothing, shoes, hygiene items, employment agency information, assistance getting IDs, prayers, soul care, writing to those in prison/rehab/jail, information for shelters, housing and much more! We also hold special events that include, but are not limited to: haircuts, opportunities to write/reconnect with families, boot drives, coat drives, tent and sleeping bag drives.

If you would like to donate physical items, the following items are what we need to keep our ministry going:
