The Elizabeth Police Explorers Post #18 is dedicated to educating young men and women about a career in Law Enforcement. We assist the Elizabeth Police Department with large operations, such as parades and community events. We also assist PBA Local #4 with various charity events throughout the city. We are very fortunate to have the support of Mayor Chris Bollwage and the City council, Police Dire
ctor James Cosgrove, Chief of Police Patrick Shannon, PBA President Rich Steinke and the members of PBA Local #4. The Explorers Posts meet every other week on Wednesday evening from 4:30 to 6:00 at Police Headquarters. Each meeting, we discuss a law enforcement topic. We also conduct hands-on training exercises. Each facet of police operations is discussed and Explorers have opportunities to tour the police department and see our equipment. The year culminates with our attendance at the NJ Law Enforcement Explorers Youth Academy. This is a week-long, live in police academy experience. we compete against Explorers from across the state in various law enforcement exercises. For more information, contact Officer Brian Clancy at Elizabeth Police Headquarters.
