Elizabeth Township Fire Department

Elizabeth Township Fire Department Welcome to the official page of the Elizabeth Township Fire Department! We are 100% volunteer and are always looking for new members.

The Elizabeth Township Fire Department was formed as a result of mergers between the Elizabeth Township Fire Department No. 1 and the Greenock Volunteer Fire Company in 2019, followed by the Central Volunteer Fire Company in 2021. We are located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, 25 miles southeast of Downtown Pittsburgh, with a current population of over 13,000 residents. Our Township is made up

of approximately 22 square miles of commercial, residential, and rural areas. Our Company consists of over 100 trained, dedicated, and hardworking individuals answering approximately 400 calls for service annually. Our department provides first due coverage to the Blythedale, Boston, Central, Greenock, Industry, Smithdale, and Victory areas as well as automatic aid to our 2 sister stations: Blaine Hill VFC and Buena Vista VFC; mutual aid to the neighboring Boroughs of Elizabeth, Lincoln, Jefferson Hills, Sutersville, Versailles, and Liberty, and The Townships of Forward, Sewickley, and Rostraver. We currently operate out of three stations: Station 3 in Blythedale, Station 4 in Greenock, and Station 7 in Central; consisting of 2 engines, a rescue-engine, a 109' aerial ladder, a heavy rescue, 2 mini pumpers, 3 Squads, and 2 all terrain vehicles. We would like to thank all of our members for their hard work, the Township of Elizabeth for their continued support, and the residents for their generous donations and support. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the organization dedicated to serving you in your greatest time of need. Please stop back soon and stay safe!

πŸ”₯ Training & Professional Development

We are proud to announce that five members have successfully completed the clinical portion of their Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) training and will soon be sitting for their National Registry certification examination. Please join us in wishing them success as they continue their journey in emergency services.

Congratulations are also extended to one member who recently earned his Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I certification, further strengthening our department’s ability to provide quality training and education.

Additionally, fifteen members completed an Aerial Apparatus Operations Course. This program is required for new and prospective operators of Truck 140 and serves as an excellent refresher for experienced operators, ensuring our members remain proficient and prepared when called upon.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Memorial Day πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Today, the members of the Elizabeth Township Fire Department pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their courage, selflessness, and dedication to protecting the freedoms we enjoy will never be forgotten. As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday and remember those who gave everything for our country.

We are forever grateful to our fallen heroes and to the families who carry their legacy forward.

Please have a safe and respectful Memorial Day.
