If you're in 6th-12th grades, come to the Elizabeth library this Thursday (17th) at 7:00 PM for a Halloween party! Dress like your favorite book character, check out new teen books, and maybe even win a gift card or other prizes! If you can't make it to the party, walk into the library any day this week and we'll give you a free book--simple as that. Celebrate Teen Read Week!!

River Ridge students, grades 6th-12th: Elizabeth Township Library will be hosting a party on August 15th, 7:00 PM. Bring your summer reading logs and get rewarded with a ton of great prizes. Snacks and drinks will be available as well, and we'll plan a trip to the CITY OF BONES movie later in August for the students who've read at least 20 hours over the summer. You won't want to miss it!

I just found a website that offers free audio downloads of classics and YA novels, one of each on a weekly basis. As an audiobook lover, how did I not know about this?! Here's the link if anyone's interested!

Galena Public Library is hosting a series of writing workshops for teens (ages 14-18) this summer! Great topics such as screenwriting, poetry, mystery, fantasy, and self-publishing. Elizabeth library is helping to spread the word, and we have a sign-up sheet here if you're interested in one (or all!) of the workshops. Let me know if you have questions!

The Teens' Top Ten Books of 2012 have been announced (courtesy of YALSA)! Check out the list here: http://www.ala.org/yalsa/teenstopten. How many have you read? I've read 7 of the 10. My favorites include THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, THE SCORPIO RACES, and LEGEND.

Check out the Teens' Top Ten, where teens voice their choice each year for their favorite books. Sixteen book groups choose nominees each year, and teens across the US vote for their favorites. The Teens' Top Ten is announced during Teen Read Week, Oct. 1
