When the unexpected happens, our CPR-certified linemen are trained and ready to respond.
Whether a field emergency occurs at a remote location or in a neighborhood, Elizabethton Electric linemen are prepared to provide care to coworkers or community members while waiting for emergency medical services to arrive. Their training includes first aid, CPR, and AED instruction, covering skills ranging from treating wounds to operating a defibrillator.
These free courses are offered each August and are required for all linemen. The training is also open to other Elizabethton Electric employees who may benefit.
Around 40 employees completed this year’s courses, led by Brandon Campbell, environmental, safety, and facilities coordinator. Certifications are valid for two years.
