To those of you who have written us; We will reopen, We will continue to serve Elizabethton residents who are in need. Due to a number of unfortunate circumstances we are unable to continue on Old Bristol Hwy. We are now in the process of securing a suitable place and we just looked at another building this morning. We should be open in early September. Til then, we remain sorry for this unfortunate delay but it was unavoidable as our client list far outweighed our funds. We have never received a donation and used our own funds to help you all which were depleted by the effort to help everyone who needed help. We are recovering from the downfall and it appear's we will return in early September as the building we saw today will rent to us. We hope all of you are well and hope to see you soon

Greetings all, We are on our way back to Tri-Cities leaving around noon and are carrying the new shelves for the pantry with us as we got a better price here in Memphis. We wont be back til pretty late tonight as we are hauling a trailer. I expect we will be over the food bank early tomorrow morning getting food and then it is back to business at the pantry. We should be set up late tomorrow afternoon and ready to open on Wed same old time. We look forward to putting the shelves up and stocking up and finally seeing everyone. Sorry for the delay it was unavoidable. We will be in tomorrow after the food bank but not open til Wed at 9AM

Amid all the fireworks and barbecue smoke this July 4, consider pausing for a moment to reflect on the one our founding fathers called the Creator. The American Revolution — and thus the country we live in today — started with God, and with the Founders’ belief in rights that are his gift to us. Whatever your religious views, or lack of them, if you are an American, it’s at least worth understanding the idea on which our nation was founded.

Happy fourth of July. God Bless America

Work will begin on the remodel of the food pantry Monday morning. Soon you will have an even better food pantry that is capable of far more than the existing pantry. new shelves, new walk in refrigerator and freezer and a checkout counter that scans your products and helps us know a great deal about what you like, and when it is time to go get more of any one product. We are excited about this change and all of you who shop with us should be as well. Dont forget NEXT appointment you need to bring your food stamp papers denial or approval. You also need to show your monthly bills and proof of income. We need this information in order to fairly arrive at the decision of how many points your family will receive to shop with

Finally we are about to get a makeover. New supermarket shelves are being installed at the pantry along with a walk in cooler and freezer. We will be closing during this renovation which will truly make your pantry better by making food more accessible. With the proposed changes comes a chance to stock far more food thus making us go out less for food. That means no more running out of food as we will be able to buy a month at a time instead of twice a week. We will be closed much of the time this work is being done and will soon let you know when it will begin. The estimated time to put it all together is three to four weeks and as soon as we know when the contractor will begin we will let you know

POLICY CHANGE ON FOOD DISTRIBUTION. Every person who is not collecting food stamps needs to show a denial letter saying you are not qualified to do so. If you are collecting food stamps nothing has changed though we will need to see a letter or statement on how much you receive in EBT. We are a privately funded organization and formed to fight food insecurity for households that simply do not have adequate resources. We love our role in the community and will help anyone who can demonstrate need though each persons first line of attack should be EBT. We are happy to assist everyone who is in need after first applying for food stamps and in cases where young children are in the house WIC. If your not willing to apply for food stamps you do not need to shop at Tri-Cities Help

Good day at the thrift shop and nice to see those who stopped by. Everyone seemed to like the setup and we will keep adding stuff to make it even more interesting. Support this good cause of helping to feed over six hundred local families by shopping here, donating items or anyway you can.
