Carter County 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for Carter County and City of Elizabethton. Northeast Tennessee.

The Carter County Emergency Communications District is a public safety answering and dispatch point for police, fire, emergency medical, and emergency management services within Carter County. Our mission is to: serve as the communications link between the citizen and public safety agencies; accurate identification of the citizen's location and public safety response needs; fast and accurate activ

ation of public safety services; provide communications support and coordination for all county public safety and support agencies. In carrying out our mission, we recognize that service is our one and only product and we share a common, ongoing goal to provide it at the most superior level possible. We also recognize that our strength and success is tied directly to the individual and unique contributions of each of us working in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork with our public safety associates both within and outside the center.

During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we want to take a moment to sincerely thank some wonderful members of our community for helping us recognize our dedicated 911 dispatchers.

A heartfelt thank you to Red Lobster, Cheddar’s, Fire Pizza, Insomnia Cookies, Outback Steakhouse, Paradise Acres, PetSense, and Applebee’s for your generous donations and kindness this week. Your support helped make our dispatchers feel truly valued and appreciated.

The men and women behind the phones are the calm voices in someone’s worst moment, working day and night to help keep our community safe. Because of thoughtful local businesses and friends like you, we are able to remind them just how much their hard work means.

Our dispatchers are the calm in the chaos, the steady voice in moments of fear, and the critical first link in protecting our communities. Their professionalism, dedication, compassion, and quick thinking save lives every single day.

Fire is contained inside containment lines. The Forest service has begun back fire operations.

Smoke will increase in the area over the next few hours.

Hampton Vol Fire department will remain on site alongside TN Division of Forestry providing structure protection throughout the duration of back fire operations.
