Miss Jasmine and Mrs. Miranda were a little "batty" today during storytime!

Our little readers had a flappin’ good time listening to a bat-themed story sharing giggles, and stretching our wings with lots of fun. There were plenty of smiles as we learned all about these amazing night flyers.

Fun fact: bats can eat their body weight in mosquitoes! Talk about helpful neighbors. We also made our very own bats by tracing our hands and using them as wings — they really took flight!

It was a totally un-BAT-lievable day at storytime!

Our Wonder Workers continued the bat theme with some hands on fun!

They created yummy bats using Oreos, put their listening skills to the test by traveling blindfolded just like bats using sound, and painted their very own bat portraits with spray bottles. There were lots of laughs, a few messy masterpieces, and plenty of creativity taking flight.

It was a bat-tastic time learning, creating, and exploring together!

Mandy and Susan hit the road yesterday to visit our Elizabethtown Nutrition Site, and the fun was served up right along with lunch!

Noodles were on the menu as we played a rousing game of “noodle ball.” There were lots of laughs, plenty of friendly competition, and we definitely worked up an appetite.

It’s safe to say everyone had a great time!

Whew! Today was an “egg”stra special storytime as we gathered for our Easter celebration!

We not only got to see a very special bunny, but we also got to hold the cutest little cheeping chicks that hatched right here at the library.

Mrs. Miranda and Miss Jasmine read us some wonderful stories to get us ready for Easter, and then we made our very own hatching chicks. Of course, we couldn’t forget the egg hunt, the kids had a blast searching for colorful eggs!

A special THANK YOU to Elizabethtown Christian Academy for helping hide the eggs and making the hunt extra fun for our little ones!

Everyone went home with a new book and some fun goody bags to top off a perfect day.

Our Annual Book Sale at Bladen County Public Library is just around the corner, and we’re getting ready for another great year!

You’ll find everything from best sellers and cookbooks to children’s stories, romance, westerns, sci-fi, and more!

Don’t forget, book donation drop-off day is coming soon, so start gathering those gently used books!
