Hardin County Conservation District

Hardin County Conservation District Soil and Water Conservation District Founded in 1943 The Hardin County Conservation District was founded in 1943 and is a subdivision of state government.

Its purpose is to conserve and develop all natural resources in the county. The Conservation District also partners with other government agencies such as the National Resource Conservation Service, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Division of Forestry, and the Farm Service Agency in assisting land-owners

Much work is also being done with the urban sector of our society. City land users are assisted in the wise use of their property.

The healthier the soil, the more microorganisms it can support, along with greater diversity that helps cycle nutrients and support plant growth. In poor soils, both the number and variety of microorganisms drop, which weakens the soil system and reduces its ability to support healthy plants. πŸͺ±πŸ€Ž
