Essex County, NY Women, Infants and Children WIC

The Essex County WIC Program provides food, nutrition counseling, breastfeeding support and referrals to families who are income eligible. Our services are designed for pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women and children up to the age of 5. Children can include those raised by dads, aunts and uncles, grandparents and those in foster care. Foods provided on the program contain essential vitam

ins and minerals to support healthy growth. To qualify financially you may use an active Medicaid card, SNAP (food stamps) letter, or pay stubs. To see if you qualify, you may compare your income to our income guidelines or call our office. If you are currently pregnant, your unborn baby will count as additional member of your household.

This is the rockstar group we collaborate with to make WIC N' PICK a happy and peaceful space for our families to enjoy!
We love you Creative Kitchen Garden🌻🍀🌞

The reason we’ve pulled off this season right here! This rockstar team has put in many hours of hard work, in all weather, to bring our members and customers food and flowers. It’s been an exciting year of expansion, which has also meant a good deal of figuring-it-out and putting-out-fires on the fly.

Elyse is our rockstar bug manager, tomato trelliser, mower, w**d whacker, post pounder, w**d puller, and bean enthusiast.

Leah is the master of making straight edges, mulcher, w**der, problem solver, do-it-right-the-first-time’r and can ID every single plant known to the Northeast.

Anne is the excited-to-fix-it, wants-to-know-how-it-works, always-thinking-of-ways-to-work-smarter person. She is the only person on our team who can reliably start the generator. She has learned so much about planting, managing, and identifying w**ds in the garden this season.

So much gratitude for this team!

Many thanks to Marietta Brady and Adirondack Community Foundation for your support of our summer WIC n Pick Program!🫛🥕🫜

Congrats to 2026 Kindling Awardee, Marietta Brady! 👏👏👏

Marietta leaps to fill any gap she spots in the community with a "cheerful, can-do” spirit. She has partnered with the Red Cross for swim lessons and Adirondacks Friends of Refugees and Immigrants for cultural festivals, but her hallmark is the free, bilingual toddler playgroup she has run for five years—a joyful haven for young families she maintains through creative partnerships and funding.

Marietta is directing a $1,000 grant from ACF to the WIC n' Pick Families to Farm program.
