The dashboard is updated each morning, Monday through Friday, except state holidays.

Kentucky health officials have confirmed an ongoing outbreak of measles in Kentucky. As of Aug. 17, 2026, there are confirmed cases in Christian, Todd, Trigg, and Washington Counties. This includes two people who have been hospitalized with measles.
The Kentucky Department for Public Health and local health departments are also investigating reports of measles in other counties.
The Kentucky Department for Public Health publishes updated county case counts each morning, Monday through Friday, at www.chfs.ky.gov/agencies/dph/dehp/idb/Pages/measles.aspx.
Vaccination is the best protection from measles. The measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine is safe, effective, and widely available in Kentucky. To get the MMR vaccine, contact your doctor or other health care provider, or your local health department.

Sharing on behalf of the Kentucky Department for Public Health: Measles is a highly contagious respiratory virus that can cause serious health complications, especially in young children. Vaccination is the best protection against measles. The measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine is safe, effective, and widely available in Kentucky.

Families should reach out to their provider, pharmacist, or local health department to make sure that they and their children are up to date on their MMR vaccine.

On Aug. 13, 2026, Kentucky health officials confirmed a case of measles in Christian County. This is the first confirmed case of measles in a Kentucky resident since January.

The individual was not vaccinated against measles and is believed to have been exposed through contact with an out-of-state visitor from a community with an ongoing measles outbreak.

Additional unconfirmed reports of measles have led health officials to suspect an outbreak.
