Congratulations, Ammon Fire Department

Our very own Brian Cox had the honor of presenting Ammon Fire Department with their new fire protection rating on Saturday, September 26! Previously classified as a Class 9 department, Ammon Fire Department has worked hard to achieve an improved Class 6/9 rating, which will officially take effect on December 1, 2026.

This achievement reflects the department’s continued commitment to strengthening its operations, improving fire protection services, and keeping the community safe. We are proud to recognize their hard work and dedication!

Congratulations to the entire Ammon Fire Department on this well-deserved accomplishment!

When working with schools, encourage educators to help students become familiar with the fire drill routine before the alarm sounds. Cool, dry, and breezy conditions are expected today with mostly sunny skies across much of the region. The only exception looks to be over the Cape Fear area, where partly sunny skies appear more likely. North winds continue at around 10-15 mph with gusts up to 20-25 mph. Abnormally cool and dry air supports highs only in the low-mid 70s with overnight lows falling into the upper 40s to low 50s. A true taste of Fall!
