Today, we pause to honor the life and sacrifice of Staff Sgt. Benjamin “Ben” Noah Pennington, a true American hero and a valued member of our community.

Staff Sgt. Pennington gave his life in service to our country during Operation Epic Fury. His courage, commitment, and willingness to stand in harm’s way on behalf of others represent the very best of what it means to serve.

As a foundation that supports and stands beside first responders, we recognize that the call to serve often comes with great sacrifice. Today, we are reminded of the cost of that service and the strength of those who answer that call without hesitation.

We extend our deepest condolences to Ben’s family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. We also stand with our military brothers and sisters who continue to serve in his honor.

May we never forget his sacrifice, and may we continue to live in a way that honors the freedom he helped protect.

Rest easy, Staff Sgt. Pennington. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Schaffrick Charitable Foundation for their very generous donation to the Elizabethtown Police Foundation! Year after year, they have shown unwavering support for our Police Department and Community at large!

The Elizabethtown Police Foundation was established by business and civic leaders in our community as an independent, non-profit organization to promote excellence in the Elizabethtown Police Department (EPD) and improve and enhance public safety in the City of Elizabethtown.

The Foundation supports programs designed to help the EPD keep pace with rapidly evolving technology, strategies and training. It provides support to officers and their families when they are taxed with extraordinary needs resulting from the officer’s service to their community. The Foundation also provides resources that are not readily available through other means.
The Foundation encourages and supports EPD programs and staff in three main areas:
•Projects, research studies, and equipment to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of police activities.
•Education, training and skill development to strengthen the partnership between the police and the public.
•Support to families and officers in crisis.
EPD is grateful for this wonderful organization and the many individuals, groups, and businesses who work to make the Elizabethtown Police Foundation possible!

We would like to express our gratitude to the Schaffrick family for yet another generous donation to our Foundation! Their $20,000 contribution will go in part towards the purchase of a state of the art drivers training simulator to aid in regular training for EPD units in one of the most crucial and dangerous elements of their work and service to the city, and will be the first of its kind in the region! Our Foundation only exists because of the generosity and support of the individuals and businesses in our community, and we are humbled and grateful!
