NEWS RELEASE
Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Collision in Meade County

BRANDENBURG, Ky. (May 29, 2026) – At approximately 3:27 p.m., the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 4 received a call regarding a fatal collision on Bypass Road near High Street in Meade County. Post 4 Troopers responded to the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2017 Subaru WRX, operated by Dustin Farmer, 34, of Central, Indiana, was traveling north on Bypass Road when it crossed into the center turn lane and into the path of a 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck being operated by Maia Fisher, 25, of Mansfield, Missouri. The two vehicles collided in a head on manner.

Dustin Farmer was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Meade County Coroner. Maia Fisher sustained serious injuries and was flown to University of Louisville Hospital. Two juvenile passengers in the Subaru were also seriously injured and were taken to Norton Children's Hospital and University of Louisville Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Trooper Jesse Harp. He was assisted at the scene by the Meade County Sheriff's Office, Brandenburg Police Department, Meade County EMS, Meade County Coroner's Office and Meade County Fire.

If you would like to help out, and provide supplies for the kids going to Trooper Island Camp, Inc., I have created an Amazon supply list. Items ship directly to Kentucky State Police Post 4, and we will deliver them to Trooper Island.

This will not only make our camp week special, but if there are large amounts leftover, the other KSP Posts will be able to use them as well.

Every donation helps make camp week amazing for these kids without them or their parents having to spend a dime. Of course any items dropped off at Post 4 or Post 15 prior to June 12th would be greatly appreciated! - I will make sure Trooper Houk loads all of it himself 😃 See list below:
