Local History Mystery 🕵️‍♀️… maybe?
Found buried at some land in Elk Falls ….
We did a little searching and found that Wear-U-Well Shoes was a shoe brand sold by local merchants back in the 1920s–1930s. These signs were sometimes displayed outside general stores and other small-town businesses that carried the shoes.
Now we’re wondering… was there a store in Elk County that used to sell Wear-U-Well shoes? 👀
Does anyone remember hearing about an old shoe store, general store, mercantile, or other business in around Elk County that may have carried Wear-U-Well?
Maybe someone has an old photo, newspaper clipping, family story, or remembers a business that we haven’t been able to find yet.
It would be so neat to uncover the story behind this old sign and possibly figure out what store it originally hung on!

‼️‼️❗️POSTPONED‼️‼️❗️❗️ IMPORTANT UPDATE: With the extreme high heat this Saturday we decided to postpone until a cooler day for cleaning the gym. There is no air in the gym and it is already extremely hot in there. So with no air, no wind and high heat, we don’t want anyone getting sick from the heat so we are going to wait a few weeks for it to cool off. We will update here when we have a new date.

We are taking bids for concrete work for the main gym area, we would like a slab poured over to level/seal the current floor. We need someone who is going to be able to bid it accurately and be reliable, please message or comment below if you are interested. We get lots of tags but please message us directly a date that would work for you to come out to see the floor and get what information you need for your bid. We would love to have all the bids in by our next city meeting August 6th at the latest our September 3rd meeting. Our goal would be to have the floor done by the end of October if possible at the latest 🤞🏼

Before we can start painting, we need to give the walls a good cleaning and get everything prepped.
