The Parks and Recreation Department vision is, "An inclusive and connected park, recreation, and trail system that delivers opportunities for health and wellness, and social interaction, and delight to the Elk Grove community." The Parks and Recreation Department oversees 90+ parks, 18 miles of off-street trails, two community centers, four recreation centers, and three aquatics facilities and pro

vides recreational, sports, health, fitness and educational activities and special events for all ages. Our activity guide detailing all activities and a complete park listing is published three times per year and is available at Cosumnes CSD offices and on our activity guide webpage. The success of current and future programs depends on you and your participation. Show your support by registering for classes and attending one of our many special events. Don’t forget, if you have any feedback or questions regarding our parks, facilities or activities, please leave us a comment with our How Are We Doing Customer Service program.

Join us for a FREE concert at Laguna Town Hall! Jam out to pop punk tunes from local band INFM. This event is 100% family friendly, so EVERYONE can come out for a fun evening! The draft plan reflects years of planning and community input. It provides a long-term roadmap for future improvements while preserving the character and qualities that make Elk Grove Park such a special place for our community.

You have three weeks to review the Draft Master Plan and share your feedback.

In anticipation of temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, we, alongside our partners at the City of Elk Grove, will open a cooling center on Saturday, August 1. The center will operate from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the Wackford Community Complex (9014 Bruceville Road). Operating dates may be extended if similar conditions persist.

Organizers are initiating the opening of the cooling center in response to excessive heat forecasted by the National Weather Service Sacramento. The cooling center is open to anyone who lacks shelter or adequate home cooling. A limited number of animal kennels will be available to house pets.

Recently, our Rangers flew over to Tiny Tot Preschool’s summer camp for a tweet lesson about how birds build their nests. 🐦

After learning about the materials birds use, each camper had a chance to create a cozy little nest of their own. Talk about nest-level fun! 🪺
