Welcome to Chicks in Crisis – Empowering Families, One Step at a Time! At Chicks in Crisis, we're dedicated to supporting young parents, especially students and those from low-income households, as they face the unique challenges of parenthood. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty and empower young parents to achieve their full potential while ensuring the health and stability of their families. Our primary goal is to reduce the number of babies and children entering foster care by providing essential support services, educational opportunities, and advocacy. We work with pregnant and parenting teens, women, and dads of all ages to ensure they stay in school, maintain family size, and pursue secondary education or vocational training. Through our efforts, we assist an average of 650 household members each month, providing over 20,000 essential items such as diapers, wipes, formula, and clothing. However, none of this would be possible without the generous support of our community. Chicks in Crisis relies on donations, corporate grants, individual grants, and fundraising to support our programs and services. Our Chicks in Crisis team knocked it out of the park once again with two Mobile Outreach stops in one day at Cannery Place Apartments and The Vue at Seamist Apartments! 🙌

Our team are absolute rockstars, and it fills our hearts to connect with families and provide essential groceries, household items, and other much-needed resources. Seeing the bags filled and families supported reminds us why this work matters so much. 🥹❤️

We’re able to continue showing up for our community because of the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and supporters. Every contribution helps us keep these pit stops going and meet families where they are.

It takes a community to make a difference, and we need YOU! Join Chicks in Crisis as we celebrate the 10th Annual Elk Grove Gobble Wobble Family 5K this Thanksgiving!

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us prepare for the big day and make race morning a success. Whether you can lend a hand before the event or join us on Thanksgiving morning, every helping hand makes a difference!

We love days like these! Our Chicks in Crisis Mobile Outreach team recently visited Copperstone Village and The Crossing at Wyndham in Sacramento, bringing essential resources and support directly to local families. 💗

We’re grateful for every opportunity to meet families where they are, connect with our community, and be part of events that make a difference.

💕COMMUNITY IMPACT AT ON BROADWAY! 🚐

A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to bring Chicks in Crisis Mobile Outreach to the On Broadway Apartments and once again, our community showed up in a BIG way!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of neighbors, donors, and community partners, we collected and distributed 1,500+ essential items including groceries, hygiene products, diapers, wipes, and formula, serving 15+ local families in need.

Every item donated represents a family supported, a baby cared for, and a reminder that our community is stronger when we take care of one another. 🩷

JULIE’S SUCCESS STORY 💖

When Julie first connected with Chicks in Crisis, she was experiencing homelessness and trying to find a way forward.

Through the support of Inez and Chicks in Crisis, Julie was connected with resources to help her find safe housing, get back on her feet, and navigate supervised visits with her children.

But the support went beyond providing resources. It was about having someone in her corner who believed in her, offered honest guidance, and encouraged her to make the changes needed to build a better future.

“I couldn’t have done any of it without her.”

Julie shares that Inez was honest with her, even when she needed to hear the hard truth, and that following that guidance helped her see positive results in her life.

Her advice to others is simple: reach out and find support. Find people who will positively support you and help you move forward.

At Chicks in Crisis, we believe that sometimes a helping hand, a safe resource, and someone who refuses to give up on you can make all the difference.

Julie’s story is a reminder that your circumstances today do not have to define your tomorrow. ❤️

We are honored to walk alongside families as they work toward stability, self-sufficiency, and a brighter future.

A FAREWELL TO THE ELK GROVE TEEN CENTER 🩷

All good things must come to an end, and while this chapter may be closing, the memories, relationships, and impact created at the Elk Grove Teen Center USA will live on. 💕

The Teen Center recently hosted a farewell BBQ, bringing teens together one more time to enjoy some good food, share memories, laugh, and celebrate the time they’ve spent together in a space that meant so much to so many.

Our Chicks in Crisis Mobile Outreach Unit was honored to be there, giving teens and families an opportunity to take home items generously donated by our community, including: clothing, food, household essentials, and more.🛍️🩷

We also want to take a moment to give a very special thank you to our founder, Inez Whitlow, who served as the Teen Center’s Director during its final months. Inez has spent years showing up for the Elk Grove community from babies and children to teens, parents, and families, and her heart for this community continues to make an impact. 🩷

The Teen Center may be closing its doors, but the love, lessons, friendships, and memories created there don’t disappear. This too shall pass. Every ending makes room for a new beginning.** ✨

Thank you to the Elk Grove Teen Center for allowing us to be part of this final celebration, and thank you to every teen, family, community partner, and supporter who made this chapter special.

Here’s to the memories made, the lives touched, and whatever comes next. 🩷
