New Addition to the Recycling Center at the Compactor!

We are looking to add a drop-off composting center for household food waste!

You collect food scraps from your kitchen, and then drop them off when you make a trip to the Recycling Center on Herrman Road. This contracted service will be available to all, regardless of residency, for a monthly fee of $12 per subscriber.

To kickoff Harbor Days, The Village of Elk Rapids partnered with GT Butterfly Charities at last week's Evening on River Street for their annual public interactive education event.

The Village of Elk Rapids is an official member of Monarch City USA, and has made the commitment to avoid neonicotinoid poisons for fertilizers and pesticides while encouraging natural milkweed and other pollinator-friendly plants. We were the first Village in Michigan, and the first municipality north of Lansing to participate. Several other nearby municipalities have since followed suit. We are honored to post "Monarch Village USA" signs as we partner with GT Butterfly Charities!
