An International Falls man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a Zimmerman child this past January. Joseph Andrew Bragg, 28, also faces charges for producing and possessing criminal sexual abuse material involving a second minor victim.

When the child was reported missing under suspicious circumstances on Jan. 21, the BCA issued an AMBER Alert and worked urgently with the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, ultimately identifying Bragg as a suspect. Hours later law enforcement stopped his vehicle as he traveled toward the Iowa border and found Bragg and the child inside the car.

Bragg remains in the Sherburne County Jail.

Thanks to our community’s incredible generosity, last Friday’s Dunkin’ “Cop on a Rooftop” event was a massive success for Special Olympics Minnesota! Locally, we raised $1,805.08, contributing to a stellar statewide total of more than $53,000.
For the third consecutive year since our involvement, our location ranked in the top 15% of all participating Dunkin' stores. We were deeply honored to have Special Olympics athlete Peyton Christoffer work alongside us to raise awareness and donations.

Stop by the Dunkin' in Otsego this Friday from 6-11 a.m. to help Special Olympics Minnesota by donating to the Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser. Sgt. Nabil Gubash and Sgt. Jeff Bednarek will be participating along with Elk River Det. David Williams and other Law Enforcement partners. The event is taking place at Dunkin’ Donuts locations across Minnesota. Guests who donate any amount will receive a free donut. Guests who donate $10 or more will receive a coupon for a donut and a free medium hot or iced coffee. In recognition of National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we hosted a law enforcement memorial ceremony today outside the main entrance of the Sherburne County Government Center. Chaplain Tom Sterneman led a prayer for peace officers and Commander Ben Zawacki led the Pledge of Allegiance. Peace Officers Memorial Day pays tribute to the local, state, and federal peace officers who have died, or who have been disabled, in the line of duty.
