Spectrum High School offers a rigorous curriculum which invites students to take college level courses for college credit while remaining within the secure structure of their high school community. Spectrum utilizes the AVID college readiness system which is designed to give students options when they graduate from high school. AVID targets students in the academic middle who, with support, have c
ollege potential and equips them with the skills necessary to be successful in rigorous coursework. AVID supports every student in the school by training teachers to use innovative strategies to increase understanding of difficult material and to become more engaged in their learning. In addition, technology literacy and project-based service learning are equally significant components of the overall curriculum. Our students leave Spectrum High School prepared for college and career with an increased sense of personal excellence. Finally, in addition to rigorous course offerings, Spectrum High School offers outstanding fine arts in band, choir, theatre, and opportunities in junior and varsity athletics. When considering Spectrum, think College, Excellence, and Integrity. It is, after all, what we are all about . . . a small school that produces BIG results. Commenting Guidelines:
