Meet Concord Senior Stephanie! ❤️

Stephanie donated blood for the very first time at the Concord High School blood drive. She is also cousins with Katie Granzotto, works at SBMF and is part of our social media team!

Yesterday while brainstorming ideas for future posts, Katie reached out to Stephanie and asked if she knew anyone else who had donated at the Concord blood drive and nothing came of that….

Except something did the very next day, Stephanie knew she was eligible to donate again through an email she had received and Katie’s texted ultimately influenced her. She surprised Katie with a text saying she donated again! She went online and found a blood drive near her and stopped in to help support Concord Township Fire Department. Here she is with all the goodies she received 😊

Young donors like Stephanie are truly inspiring. Big thank you for being an amazing cousin, role model, and lifesaver!

🚨And let this be your reminder… a simple text encouraging someone to donate blood might actually get them through our doors 😉

Act Now: Protect Local Public Safety
HB 1315 threatens local control and weakens township-based fire and EMS services by relying on population thresholds instead of real performance. IVFA members are urged to contact their State Representatives and Senators and oppose HB 1315.

At the same time, we encourage legislators to support SB 270, which promotes accountability based on performance, transparency, and results—without punishing townships simply for their size.

If you have questions or need guidance, contact IVFA Lobbyist Larry Curl. Your voice matters—speak up for public safety.

Elkhart Fire Department Public Blood Drive

The Elkhart Fire Department will be hosting a public blood drive on Monday, February 16th, and we need your help.

As many of you know, the Elkhart Fire Department’s prehospital whole blood program, implemented in April 2025, has already proven its value, delivering lifesaving blood replacement therapy to patients who are critically ill or injured due to severe blood loss. We need your help in maintaining that supply.

Donors are always needed as donor numbers continue to decline. This is your opportunity to step up and make a real difference.
A single donation of blood can impact as many as three individuals, saving lives and easing suffering when it matters most.

Scan the QR code or visit www.givebloodnow.com to reserve your spot.

Help us help others, your donation truly matters.

Both vehicles involved sustained heavy front end damage. Due to the incident occurring on the St. Joseph County side of the roadway, St. Joseph County Police were requested. Penn Township Fire Department was also requested due to having multiple patients.

Despite a quick arrival time. As a result of the crash, one person was pronounced dead on scene. A second individual was evaluated and released. The scene was ultimately turned over to the St. Joseph County Police Department for investigation.
