Our Therapeutic Horticulture team was recognized this week by Dane County food‑security advocates and the Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens for taking part in one of their largest harvest months on record. VIP Services joined more than 180 volunteers across 18 special‑session groups who helped bring in an incredible 11,403 pounds of produce for food pantries throughout Dane County.
Our incredible clients spent time in the fields helping harvest fresh produce designated for area food pantries. The Madison Area Food Pantry Gardens generously sent us home with a portion of that harvest, which VIP donated to the Whitewater Community Space and families in need throughout the Elkhorn area.
This recognition means a great deal to us. It highlights the positive impact our clients and our Therapeutic Horticulture team make when they step into the field, contributing directly to regional food‑security efforts and supporting neighbors across multiple counties.
Stay tuned as we prepare for our Autumn Food Drive for Pets & People coming soon.
