🎉 A huge congratulations to our Foundation Partner, the Mountain Park Rescue Squad, Inc., on the dedication and open house of the new Linda & Dean Jennings Rescue Building!

As one of the organizations receiving $10,000+ annually through the support of our community, we are proud to see the continued growth and investment in emergency services that benefit so many throughout our area.

Thank you to the dedicated volunteers, staff, supporters, and community leaders who made this project possible. This beautiful new facility is a testament to the commitment, compassion, and service that the Mountain Park Rescue Squad provides every day.

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2026 David Steelman Scholarship! 🎓💙💚

The Yadkin Valley United Fund Board is proud to award $1,000 scholarships to:
✨ Bailey Stanley – East Wilkes High School
✨ Evan Baker – Elkin High School
✨ Carley Money – Starmount High School

Formerly known as the Triple C Scholarship, this scholarship was renamed in August in honor of former Executive Director David Steelman, whose legacy of service, leadership, and love for this community continues to inspire future generations.

We are incredibly proud of these outstanding students and look forward to seeing the impact they make in our communities and beyond.

We would also like to sincerely thank every student who applied. We had many talented and qualified applicants this year, and the selection process was not easy. Your hard work, leadership, and dedication to your schools and communities are truly inspiring.

Congratulations to all, and best wishes for a bright future ahead! 💙

Yesterday, April 15th, our community lost a truly special man, David Steelman.

In a moment that feels both heartbreaking and meaningful, local students were submitting their applications for the David Steelman Scholarship—the very scholarship created to honor his decade of service as Executive Director of the Yadkin Valley United Fund.

We were blessed to recognize David this past August by naming the scholarship in his honor, but no recognition could ever fully capture the impact he made. David was the definition of servant leadership—kind, compassionate, dedicated, and deeply committed to improving the lives of others. He gave so much of himself to this community for so many years.

His legacy will continue to live on through the students he will help for generations to come, and through every life he touched along the way.

Please join us in keeping David’s family, friends, and all who loved him in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
