The Elko County Treasurer’s office hosted the annual tax-defaulted property auction April 18th through the 22nd on Bid4Assets.com. Bidding was no-reserve, meaning the highest bid above minimum bid won the auction item.
A total of 183 registered bidders registered prior to the deadline. The registered bidders were from Nevada and neighboring states as well as Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Illinois and Texas. Hosting the auction at Bid4Assets does not cost the County anything. Bid4Assets receives a buyer’s premium as well as a fee to register for the online auction.
More than 3,400 bids were places and all 119 properties sold with winning bids ranging from a low of $1,900 and the highest at $225,652. The average price of the last three local sales averaged between $2,700 and $3,000. The average with this year’s auction was $8,487 per parcel.
It’s always a good thing to get delinquent parcels back on the roll as it is a benefit to the County of Elko.
