The Family Resource Center is a point of entry to the help and services you need in Elko County. We stay informed and aware of what is available in Elko County for families, kids and adults. Our in-house programs center on nutrition, child safety, application assistance, parenting, teen health, childcare reimbursement, advocacy, and family support.

Breastfeeding can be overwhelming and physically demanding for a new mom, so it’s important to have her back! 💗Dads and partners play a huge role in breastfeeding success. And WIC is here to help you do so! Here are some tips to help support your breastfeeding partner:

🧹Lighten the chore load for your partner! Mom needs to focus on resting, healing, and nursing.
🥛Anticipate mom’s needs during feeding, like cleaning bottles and breast pumps and bringing her snacks and water!
👶Share baby duties! Make sure to handle non-feeding tasks like diapering and burping while mom rests.

Celebrate WIC Breastfeeding Week with us! 💖We’re here to nurture your breastfeeding journey with personalized support designed for you and your family, this and beyond!

WIC offers a range of support services for breastfeeding families, including lactation experts like International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs), breastfeeding peer support specialists, breast pumps and supplies, nutritious foods, and more.

School starts soon, and this is your last chance to join our FREE Healthy Teens classes before the new school year begins!

Every young person will learn about relationships, boundaries, puberty, communication, and reproductive health from somewhere. Give them the opportunity to learn through fun, age-appropriate, evidence-based activities in a comfortable, judgment-free environment.

Every participant will also receive a FREE backpack filled with school supplies, just in time for the first day of school!
