Mosquito Spraying

The City of Elko Parks Department is set to conduct its annual aerial application for mosquito control on Thursday, June 25, 2026, and again on Wednesday morning, July 1, 2026. Since the insecticides used are harmful to bees, we urge local beekeepers to take appropriate precautions.

The spraying will occur only if weather conditions meet the required criteria: temperatures must be above 50 degrees, and wind speeds should be below 10 miles per hour. Should the weather not cooperate, a backup date has been scheduled for Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Areas targeted for treatment include:
- Humboldt River Corridor
- Elko City Cemetery
- Ruby View Golf Course
- City Parks
- Elko Regional Airport
- Water Treatment Facility

We also encourage residents to help with mosquito control by removing any stagnant water from tires, boats, buckets, and similar items, as these serve as ideal breeding sites for mosquitoes.

Exciting Price Reduction for This Week's Museum Trip!

Join us for a delightful afternoon with the Northeastern Nevada Museum and D'ette! Your little historians, ages 2-5, will embark on an art adventure through the museum, followed by a chance to create their own fun collage drawing or painting.

Class starts at 1 PM, meeting at 561 VFW Dr. From there, we'll take a walk through the park to the museum.
