Local 2423 participates in a 5-day course helping to fine tune our responses to structure fires. This training was a different way for us to consider rescue and fire tactics while on an incident and better serve our community, who we love so much.

Godspeed brother..

Yesterday our community lost a great asset… Firefighter Paramedic Dale Branks. Dale was dedicated to not only helping those that called upon him for medical and fire emergencies but he also dedicated his time to helping firefighters stay healthy both physically and mentally throughout their careers. Dale was regarded by all members of Las Vegas Fire as one of the smartest paramedics around and was by far one of the nicest and most caring members anyone could have met. Dale spent most of his career working at the busiest firehouse in the city and had spent several years as a paramedic with AMR and served in the United States Air Force. Dale leaves behind his wife Lara and two children (Luke and Vivien). Most recently Dale was assigned to the training center to help train all members of our department in emergency medicine and there couldn’t have been a better person to take on this monumental task. This is truly a difficult loss for our members and we stand with Dale’s family in support during this difficult time. Dale, we Love you brother…. @[email protected]@[email protected]@[email protected]@[email protected]@[email protected]_vegas_firefighters_members @chief_miller @vital_shotslv

Congratulations are in order for our newest member, Josh Montoya, completing his 90-day Red Shirt probation. He has accomplished many skills in order to test out of his red shirt. Some examples of these are vehicle extrication, forcible entry, deploying hand lines into a structure, victim rescues and many more. He will now be proudly wearing our blues out in public. Give him a hand for a job well done!

Did you know… your local 2423 firefighters have 6 members who completed the paramedic program through GBC which is a 2-year program that requires extensive hours and dedication of their own time.
