Our apologies, we had some technical difficulties with our previous hiring post and it has disappeared.

But don’t worry, we are still hiring and we are still very excited for you to come join our team and expand with us!

We appreciate everyone who shared our hiring post from yesterday. Great things happen when a community comes together! Please share this one due to the last link now being broken. The online hiring page is still the same. The link to this flyer is all that has changed. Thank you all for sharing and supporting Todd County EMS!

This week some of our Todd county employees and paramedic students had the opportunity to practice some new techniques and enhance upon our prior training, regarding some advanced airway and trauma life-saving skills. Being able to utilize a pigs airway structure and ribs enhanced this course with some great hands-on experience.

A big thank you to Air Evac 92 Base and the instructors Brandon, Quinton, and Jordan for setting this up and inviting our team. These gentelmen led a very informative clinical with valuable information. They shared their experience and expertise which will allow our own to better serve our community, in the event of an emergency, that may require some more invasive procedures in the field.

Fun fact: pig lungs are highly similar to human lungs in size, structure, and airway branching, making them ideal models for medical research.

Just a friendly reminder not everyone thinks about, as the roads clear and more people begin to travel, the ice and snow that has solidified on your vehicles will fall off as you’re driving down the road. This can cause some dangerous and unsafe driving conditions for yourself or other motorist around you.

Several people around us have reported accidents where ice has fell off another vehicle and shattered and gone through their windshields or body of their car.

It takes time and patience to get that ice off your vehicle top and underneath. It’s not just clearing off your windows so you can see to make driving safe. Please allow yourself plenty of time to fully clean the ice off your vehicle prior to driving it on the roads and if you are behind someone with ice on their vehicle, stay back several feet so if it comes flying off, you have time to safely react and minimize damage to your vehicle.

The roads are very slick and hazardous. If you don’t have to be out, we recommend you stay home, but if you have to go out, please drive safely for our linemen who are out and about helping others today.

We would like to express extreme gratitude to the lineman crews out today restoring power to our citizens.

We are currently responding to several power outages in Todd and Logan Counties caused by ice accumulation on power lines and trees. Our crews are working as safely and quickly as possible to restore service.

Please be aware that response times may be longer than usual due to hazardous road conditions. The safety of our crews and the public is our top priority.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these outages. Thank you for bearing with us while we restore power to affected members.

Very good advice from our friends over at HFD!

This is a very common call, especially if the power goes out. We do not have extra tanks to take and leave with you and your loved ones or neighbors (but we do have plenty to treat and transport you with!) If you loose power and do not have back up portable tanks to use at home, we do have to transport you to a hospital so you can have access to oxygen as you are required.

There’s still some good weather today to get out or help someone make sure they have what they need for the next couple of days. Make sure you have back ups, and they are full, in case the power goes out and you can use your main electric tanks at home.

We know you all bought all the bread and milk…
👀🍞🥛

But did you remember to do a quick check of all your life-saving devices? One of the most common calls for EMS during severe weather and power outages is for those on supplemental oxygen without back-up cylinders.

Be a good neighbor. Check on those who may need a little extra help over the next few days.
