On August 5th, 2026, the Todd County Grand Jury indicted multiple individuals after an 8-month long investigation into contraband being introduced to inmates at the Todd County Detention Center. The Elkton Police Department presented their case on indictments of 8 individuals. Below is a list of those individuals who have currently been served with their indictments and their charges:
Tyrell Ellis, 39, Barren County Detention Center- Engaging In Organized Crime- Criminal Syndicate, Complicity to Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, 2nd Offense, Conspiracy to Promoting Contraband 1st Degree, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree
Zachary Dean, 46, Todd County Detention Center- Conspiracy to Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, 2nd Offense, Conspiracy to Promoting Contraband 1st Degree, Trafficking Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a School, Engaging in Organized Crime-Criminal Syndicate, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree
Christopher Vigil, 36, Todd County Detention Center- Conspiracy to Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd Degree 1st Offense, Trafficking Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a School, Conspiracy to Promoting Contraband 1st Degree, Engaging in Organized Crime-Criminal Syndicate
Shawn Logsdon, 43, Todd County Detention Center- Engaging in Organized Crime-Criminal Syndicate, Conspiracy to Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd Degree 1st Offense, Trafficking Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a School, Conspiracy to Promoting Contraband 1st Degree, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree
Donnie Stevenson Jr., 54, Leitchfield- Trafficking in Controlled Substance 2nd Degree 1st Offense, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a School, Conspiracy to Promoting Contraband 1st Degree, Engaging in Organized Crime-Criminal Syndicate
This investigation led to the indictments of multiple individuals currently incarcerated and others outside of the detention center who provided assistance in the introduction of dangerous contraband into the Todd County Detention Center with more arrest and indictments expected. The investigation is being led by the Elkton Police Department. Assisting the Elkton Police Department were the Todd County Sheriff's Office, Todd County Detention Center, United States Postal Inspectors Office, the Leitchfield Police Department, Grayson County Detention Center, Warren County Regional Jail, Barren County Sheriff's Office, and the Barren County Detention Center.
