Cecil County Councilman Bob Meffley

Cecil County Councilman Bob Meffley Cecil County Council President Bob Meffley I am a Republican and I am running for the Republican nomination for Cecil County Council District 1.

Some of you do know me as the owner of H&B Plumbing & Heating which I started in 1980. I graduated from Bohemia Manor High School in 1970. I attended college for 2 years until the Armed Forces called my draft number. I went into the Army and was promoted to Specialist 5 in the Corp of Engineers in Germany. After 3 years of military service, I went to work at Aberdeen Proving Grounds as a plumber.

I worked there 4 years before I started my company which now employs 30 people. I am the proud parent of 2 grown children who were both born and reside in Cecil County. My 4 grandchildren are being raised in Cecil County and are attending our public schools. I have been involved in the community through Chesapeake City Little League, Scout Master for Chesapeake City Boy Scouts, and Coach for Cecil Soccer League.

I went to Annapolis to voice my opposition against HB887. Another example of State Government telling Cecil County how best to use our precious resources. This bill would greatly reduce funding for the annual VLT Grant program that benefits 80 local organizations this year. These groups work to address the needs of our youth, veterans, seniors and those in recovery and also promote public safety and economic progress. This bill would reduce VLT funding designated for the Town of Perryville.

Had the privilege of attending the 57th Taste of Maryland Agriculture at MDLive last night where we sampled local and delicious farm products from throughout our state. The Wayne McGinnis Family from Baltimore County were welcomed in the Hall of Fame. Finally we congratulate Robbie Miller, President of MD Agriculture and his team of Volunteers and all the generous Maryland farmers and watermen who donated all the food last night on a successful and memorable event.

The Elkton Rotary Club is at it again! We will be at The Grocery Outlet in Elkton, this Saturday, the 15th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, collecting cans for the Immaculate Conception Outreach Food Pantry.
This food pantry serves the unemployed, homeless, and working poor of Cecil County. They provide a 2-3 day supply of perishable and non-perishable food items once a month, including baby formula, adult supplements (e.g., Ensure), and diapers when available.
Stop on by and say hello to our generous members and volunteers to see us in action, or drop a can or two into the collection!
It always feels great to serve our community together!

I had a chance to ask Santa which list I am on. Looking forward to a great Christmas.
