Last week, County Executive Adam Streight was happy to join Career Day at Bay View Elementary School!

County Executive Streight spoke with students about his current role in local government, as well as his previous experience serving as a Sheriff’s Deputy. He shared insight into public service, leadership, and the many ways local government works to support the community each day.

We always enjoy getting out into Cecil County Public Schools to connect with students, answer questions, and help inspire the next generation!

Last Friday, Cecil County Government proudly recognized members of the Cecil County Department of Emergency Services and the Volunteer Fire Company of Chesapeake City, for their outstanding actions during a critical incident that occurred on June 22, 2025, in Chesapeake City.

County Executive Adam Streight, joined by representatives from the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS), presented the providers with the prestigious MIEMSS Star of Life Award in recognition of their exceptional patient care, professionalism, teamwork, and clinical expertise.

The award honors the crew’s lifesaving efforts involving a critically injured patient located in a remote wooded area during extreme heat and humidity conditions. Through coordinated teamwork, rapid medical intervention, safe extrication, and transport for aviation care, these EMS professionals provided the patient with a second chance at life.

County Executive Streight remarked: “Our public safety professionals here in Cecil County are second to none. They continuously go above and beyond the call of duty to serve and protect our residents, often under extremely difficult circumstances. The actions recognized here represent the very best of our community and public safety services.”

Congratulations to all recipients and thank you for your continued service to our community.
